She has served numerous congregations as primarily an interim or transitional minister.  This is her love, specialty and calling.  Those churches were small, large, multi-staff, solo, urban, rural, small town suburban, affluent, poor and almost every variation of church to be found.  Each brought about unique challenges as well as wonderful possibilities as God calls each one and each of us to be the most called beings we can be in that soil and context.

In 2024, Gail retired as the Transitional Executive Leader of the Presbytery of Southern Kansas.  She has enjoyed travel, visits with family and friends, rest and renewal, and surprising even to her, a journey toward becoming a Benedictine Oblate.  In April 2026 she will lead/visit the Holy Land for the 9th time.

On a personal level, Gail is a voracious reader, an extrovert who loves to curl up with a dark roast cup of coffee and a professed gym rat (a relatively new endeavor)/. She can also be seen viewing all sorts of spectator sports with her husband, David.  Together, the two of them have two wildly wonderful (okay biased) adult daughters who live in Arvada, Colorado and Santa Barbara, California.  They appreciate having such lovely spots to visit their offspring.

Finally, there are no grandchildren, and Covid caused a momentary lapse in judgment to adopt a loveable, silly Corgi/Chihuahua/Terrier mix named Iggy (named for Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors - yes, you can question her sports allegiances).

She loves God as Trinity, people, and the ways that God shows up in others and all manners of creation and creativity.  She is pleased to be able to come out of retirement for this very brief time to help INP through its latest transitions.
