Remaining at the Table

Building trust is always a process and rebuilding it requires even more energy, honesty, forgiveness, and the willingness to “remain at the table.”

by Janice Six, Moderator of the INP Administrative Commission

A little over three years ago, Synod of the Sun responded to a request for an Administrative Commission to walk alongside the leadership of Indian Nations Presbytery in the process of establishing trust and restoring relationships with and among individuals, congregations, and committees of INP. All of us on the commission have been impressed with the heart of this presbytery as you have engaged in the process by giving of your time, expertise and insights about what would strengthen INP’s effectiveness.

Building trust is always a process and rebuilding it requires even more energy, honesty, forgiveness, and the willingness to “remain at the table.” We have witnessed your commitment and continue to be in awe of the work we see the Holy Spirit carrying out through you. The dedication of the members of the Transition Task Force is commendable, and we rejoice over the work that has been done so far to make sure your concerns are addressed.

There is still much to do, so you’ll continue to see us at presbytery meetings. Each of us on the Administrative Commission agrees that the future is bright for Indian Nations Presbytery and we look forward to celebrating the culmination of all your efforts, patience, and input as decisions regarding structure and leadership are made.
