Welcome to Indian Nations Presbytery! We provide nurture and support for 52 congregations located in central and southwest Oklahoma. INP includes more than 10,000 men, women, and children seeking to serve God, church, and community together. There are two other presbyteries in Oklahoma: Eastern Oklahoma and Cimarron. Indian Nations Presbytery works with the Synod of the Sun in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
Indian Nations Presbytery partners with The Urban Mission, located at 3737 N Portland, Oklahoma City. This important mission provides food, necessities and clothing to Oklahoma City families as well as afterschool activities for children. Contact The Urban Mission at (405) 946-1556 to discover how you can serve. Indian Nations Presbytery also supports Dwight Mission in Vian, Goodland Academy in Hugo, and campus ministries in Norman, Ada and Lawton.
On Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20, 2013, a number of tornadoes moved across the area of Oklahoma served by Indian Nations Presbytery – the worst being an EF5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma on May 20. The communities have sustained major damage to homes, businesses, schools and public buildings – and they continue to mourn the loss of life. We thank you for the concerns expressed and prayers offered – and for your generosity expressed over the past year.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance website (www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/pda/pda-resources) offers a variety of resources to assist churches and individuals in responding to disasters. Gifts of the Heart kits (www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/pda/making-gift-heart-kits) are a practical way for groups to share in response to disasters. As you know, the recovery efforts will be ongoing – and all of us will be involved. Please continue to hold those affected by these tornadoes in your prayers.
